So I've owned this odd little ring for a while and it puzzled me. No marks. I took it across the street to my friendly neighborhood jeweler yesterday, and he said the ball in the setting was amber, but the ring wasn't silver, it was steel. Isn't that strange? What do the jewel people on here think? Thanks for looking.
stunning ring !!!
Thanks for the love, SEAN68, and brunswick. :)
Sean, the simple clean lines and outlandish design must appeal to you. Thank you! :)
Good Thursday to you, Thomas. :)
katherine - there are a number of ring styles made using honey amber and stainless steel.
Thanks for the love, valentino97, and Efesgirl. :)
Thanks for that information, Bonnie, I did look but couldn't find any, just amber mounted in silver. :/
Superb photo!!!!!!!

Thanks for the compliment, kyratango, sometimes they turn out well. :)
Thanks, Mike, the jeweler across the street said it was steel, I guess I could ask elsewhere. Glad you like the presentation! :)
I'm with Tango & Nuts...6 (Mike): Superb photo & presentation. [;>)
Yeah, great photos Katherine!
You know I am a jewellery noob but I really can't imagine anyone hand making a ring like this out of steel. It would be too much work for no real gain - most steel alloys these days are quite hard.

Thanks so much for your very kind compliment, NB, much appreciated. :)
Thanks, Karen, for the compliment on the photos, awww. :) As for the ring, well I wondered enough to take it to the jeweler, but he said it was steel and Bonnie says it's steel, -- now I don't know what to think, lol! May take it to another jeweler to take a look. :)
