Found this today. Only have one. It is 8.25" across.
Signed on the back, thought it said Mac Gregory, but now see it may be Mae Gregory. Does have Asian script under the name.
Do not know if it is anything special.
Any information would be appreciated. I like plates on easels to decorate.
well you need an better expert i.mo its Japanese is early showa around 1930, but who is mae gregory an client ?
Hi,
That is the name that was signed on the back of the plate.
well i am rooky on japanese plates
but what is happening did miss Mae Gregory ordered a plate , or did she got a plate or did she made the plate herself
I think as a layman that this could be made from the showa period on till now
when she ordered the plate the artist probably signed it or put in the type of symbols of plate, but the name of Mae Gregory also appeared
did miss gregory made it ,probably not why mention the characteristics, and she must be rather skilled
say it s made around 1930 , i think against the odds , i must be wrong because it,s highly onlikely this will happen to put in the name
when this is Showa lets say 1980 the chances are increasing because it is more common , maybe a gitf reciever
so to keep it short , i just don,t know , because i am not skilled enough , but i think it,s a real nice plate , and as a layman i think it, is made from early Showa period on
so a lot bs information but at least i tried
best regards Waki
try to think as a sort of syllogistic thinking when i am right and is around 1930 , the whole reasoning to make it is wrong , and leads to nullification of my thesis
correctionto make it sound
Thank you, Waki.
well don,t thank me because i don,t know if i am right , and i hate submissive behavior , i have to persist for a few bucks you got a nice plate , and i think you have done well and i am not in the sugarcoating business or the cheering session
best regards Waki, end of story
