My grand daddy's- been in a box for 45 years- and I wound it and that bad boy has been keeping perfect time for an hour!
It says 17 jewels Incabloc on the front. The engraved image of a train on the back still has really nice detail of the engine although you see the wear.

If you left a car in a barn for 45 years, would you just throw fuel in and drive off?
The issue is, it may work for now, but you need to send it in if you want to use it and keep it working. It will need to be completely cleaned out and oiled up properly, else it could wear out the parts. Better to prevent than to repair.
