This piece of artwork is fabulous! I think it is just stunning , I have no clue who made it, but I can see a faint mark in the corner but I can't make it out, it is metal .

That is SO Deco Gorgeous!! Can't tell if it's an Eagle or a Goose behind the woman.
Definitely a goose.
BB2 was here
stunning deco!! is this framed? if so undo it it could be signed on the back.
This is not a Goose or an Eagle. This is classic Art Deco, and a representation of "Leda and the Swan". This was a commonly found theme in metal work such as bookends and also in artwork. It is quite possible that this was originally an architectural element.
Here is a link to the story that it is based on:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leda_and_the_Swan
so designed this in the deco era?
LOL - well - I knew it wasn't an eagle! I was trying to think of the story with the lady & the goose, but it was a swan.
Oh my. Louis Boucher's version! (Given the story, you now can see why this one has a sad Leda, depending on how you interpret the story.)

YOWZA! Some depictions! I would definitely try to find who did this one.
It reminds me of some WPA works.
Getting kinky. I luv it ! LOL !!
i had a bronze medal from the 1936 olympics, but it was stolen years ago. the artwork on it makes me think of this. kind of reminds me of the Reichstag.
Ho2cultcha - me too! That style of bird wings.
Back to the kinky. A swan has sex with a woman & who lays the "eggs"? I told friends when I 1st heard that song: Looking For Love In All The Wrong Places, "They need to get a book on anatomy" ! LOL !! Actually, I've been in stranger situations, but those I don't share in places like this.
this must be signed somewhere! Beautiful!
This is a really interesting piece. It is definitely Leda and the Swan but it has nazi overtones too it too -- it looks like a swastika. One of Hitler's favourite paintings was Paul Mathias Padua's Leda and the Swan, with a German maiden about to be penetrated by a Wagnerian swan. http://www.germanartgallery.eu/en/Webshop/0/product/info/Paul_Mathias_Padua,_Der_Führer_Spricht&id=105
I'm kind of late ! But Thank You All So Very Much For The Interesting Information and Comments!!!!
