This was left to me by my maternal grandmother (born 1913) who said it came from her mom's family. I would love to know more about it. It has Nippon on the base and this image that I found online is the very same pattern - I have no idea what it's called though. I also need to get a replacement value for insurance purposes, but don't live near any places that offer that kind of service. I would really appreciate any information or suggestions for appraisal. Thank you! Susan
Update - I've added a picture of the mark on the bottom if that helps. I've not been able to find a similar one online yet. Thanks again!
These are gorgeous! That yellow just pops! I don't know of anyone that would appraise on=line by photos...if they offer that service, personally, I'd beware. And I don't think I'd send them out to anyone to do that either.
Someone here might be able to give you great info on how to locate one. Give it a little time and the right person will see it. Beautiful set!!!
Thank you nutsabotas6 and shareurpassion! I will check E-Bay to see what I can find. I've just started researching this so I'm sure there are resources I've yet to find. I certainly can't ship them out to be appraised - they are extremely fragile and I don't want them out of my sight :) I'd even be nervous about taking them somewhere in town even if we did have someone who could appraise them. Someone suggested I contact my homeowner's insurance rep and tell him I need items appraised for replacement value and have them suggest someone who could come to the house - I have a number of items I need to get riders for. I'd never heard of this but think I'll call and see what he says. Thanks again!
