    Picked this up today. Not real sure on the age or what type of decanter this is, but it looks nice so I got it. It measures approximately 8 1/2 " with out the stopper and about 9 1/2 with stopper

      Nice decanter, applied rings on neck, does it have a ground pontil, or a star base ?

      That really is an interesting decanter. Times lines on UK and US styles are not exactly the same but my guess would date it about 1820-30. This is my subject BTW

      Lovely!! That is an American decanter in 19thC, and probably the first half like lovedecanters suggested. This shape was popular throughout that century in US. A little pain that it has a wrong stopper. The original stopper should be a blown ball with some cuts similar to the body's. Thanks for sharing!
