steamer trunk dome top with embossed flower and leaf tin

Hi I just purchased this steamer trunk at a garage sale for $5 And have been restoring it repainting the black tin and copper painting the embossed leave and flower tin I have also painted all the metal hardware excluding the lock i painted the latches next to the lock gold but would like to know if the gold latches look good or should I take the gold off and paint black.I also took all the old wallpaper from the inside out and will be shellacking the wood on the inside of this truck. The inside tray/box was missing I will be making one any suggestions on what wood I should use to make a box I would also like to know when this steamer trunk may have been made also above the lock (image 2 )would like to know what was above it was theres A handle there's one little square piece of leather still attached.Any information would be gladly appreciated thanks for reading.
