When launched by German company Albin Sprenger KG, in 1953, the Astron 2000 fan heater called a lot of attention. Designed by Christian Bachem, it won the coveted iF Design Award in 1954 in the Product discipline (http://ifworlddesignguide.com/entry/2871-heizlufter-astron-2000).
It is a four speed, two heat temperature settings + fan unit, extremely well built appliance. The body is cast aluminum clad with synthetic resin. It measures 28.5cm high x 26cm wide x 25 deep. My unit is a 220V Type A014 built ca. 1960 and looks and works as new. Winter is coming down here and it will keep me warm!

Thank you fortapache.
Here's a webpage with a selection of Albin Sprenger fans and heaters. They were really concerned with product design: http://www.ulrich-stuermer.de/index.php?id=21&herst=3
