Found this in my dad's workshop. I'm assuming he found this while excavating one of his properties in either the Chicago suburbs, Southern Illinos, or possibly Lake Havasu AZ. Could be from anywhere though! The blade was very rusty when I found it. The sheath has bone sides inside. Can anyone give me help to identify this?

The knife is just a little over 14" long. Don't know if it was the right thing to do, but I soaked the blade in a rust removing solvent to get a better look at the symbols.

One collector said it could be of African origin. He was stationed in Morocco in ww2. Anyone familiar with primitive African knives?

Does have an Algeria/Morocco look to it. That thing is for slipping under ribs or cutting throats.

Maybe it is for loping off foreskin....note the shape of the handle.
      Just kidding
