This fellow is proud of his squirrels. He poses in front of the Crescent. The squirrels block the bottom wording --es dining room.
Perhaps the women in the second photo are serving squirrel?
Here is a somber nun. This card has details on the back. in French, Sister Marie of the Nativity. Jubilee, age 76. 1935. She was my great aunt.
The message on the back of the Railroad police card is interesting: DID YOU SEE THE COMET THIS MORNING? I WAS THE FIRST ONE TO SEE IT HERE IN CAPE GIRARDEAU. this from my grandfather's cousin, May 6, 1910. The stamp reads in part, S.F. R.R. Co.

I'm looking at the postcard of the Railroad Cop and his message about the comet. I googled 1910 Halley's comet and it did appear in May of 1910. However, his postcard is dated May 5 or 6 and the reports I read date it as May 19, 1910. So, my question is for any scientists in this group: Was the 19th the date it came closest to earth and he saw it when it first appeared in the distance?? I do realize this happened over 100 years ago, but I am always curious about these things. Could be something as simple as my misreading his handwriting or he mistook the date. But, I am guessing the comet could be seen more than one night. The headlines for May 19, 1910 are all about the comet and its unusually close approach. Some thought it was a sign of the end. Some wanted to sacrifice a virgin, but the police stopped it! But others, and I hope this was the majority, listened to the scientists of the day and enjoyed the awesome sight for its magnificence as it seems my cousin of long ago did.

PostCardCollector, Those squirrels are displayed in front of a Diner. My guess is they were served up in a stew!
