The M7 bayonet is a bayonet that was used by the U.S. military for the M16 rifle, it can also be used with the M4A1 carbine, Steyr AUG and the IMI Galil assault rifles and carbines, and Mossberg combat shotguns. It can be used as a fighting knife and utility tool. The M7 bayonet has two spring loaded catches on either side of the pommel. Markings on the crossguard instead of at the base of the blade. The scabbard is an M8A1. The M7 was introduced in 1964, when the M16 entered service during the Vietnam War. The M7 was manufactured all over the world, in the United States, Canada, West Germany, the Philippines, Singapore, Israel and South Korea.
