This was given to me when my grandmother past away. I do not normally collect pottery. I know that it came from Japan during World War 2 on a Navy Ship by my uncle. There are no markings on it that I can find to read any history about it or where it might have came from. I have tried searching the internet but can't find anything like it. If anyone could offer any information on this piece I would really be interested in knowing more about it thanks.

This is Japanese dragon ware, done in a moriage finish (that's the raised lumps) and although not signed would be considered Satsuma style (but can't be called Satsuma I don't think).
I think that dating it to WW2 would be about right.
      Cool teapot.

Thank you for your help. It is very white even thought it is pretty old. I thought it was porcelain, I was clueless as to anything else. I appreciate the information. It could have very well came from an army store as my uncle was stationed in Japan as a Naval officer. I also have a vase and a tea cup that are a matching set they are a different style and have a marking that say made in Japan on them. I think they are really beautiful, I love Asian Art and have tons of Buddah's and other interesting items.
