We purchased this beautiful steamer trunk about 6 months ago and my curiosity's finally gotten the best of me. I have done extensive research but have hit a dead end around every corner and am hoping someone can please give me a little more insight such as approximate age, manufacturer, etc.
The trunk itself doesn't have a manufacturer's name or label, though the lock is a Yale & Towne. It's tin & wood with wood trim and heavy brass-looking hardware. All hardware is present and intact. It also has the original leather straps and guides, all of which are in super condition. It measures approximately 37" l x 20" d x 12-3/4" h. My curiosity and I thank you for any information anyone can send my way! :)
Metal covered Steamer or Cabin trunk. Brass plated steel hardware on a pine box. Most likely made in the early 1900's and as you said no labels or tags, so no way to know who made it. Hope this helps,
Jim
