My Mother in law gave this to me about 25 years ago. She said she thought it was worth something at the time. I thought it was nice so I put it in my cabinet and didn't think about it, untill I came across this website and saw a plate with the same pattern. She past away more than 15 years ago. I wish I would have ask her where she got it.
Shawnl86 just how valuable is this?
Very Nice! The base color of the glass is called Ice Green and it looks like it has marvelous irradiance to it, I’ve seen a wide range of ending bids for these on EBay anywhere from $175.00 - $300.00 depending on both condition and irradiance level and of course the most important factor Luck, If I was going to post that in my store id put $300.00 or best offer and wouldn’t take less then $250.00 but don’t sell yours hold on to it! :)
The only time that that will leave my home is when i'm gone. Thanks so much for your help. I'm going to put this information with the plate for whoever gets it next
The pattern is "Peacocks", also called "Peacocks on the Fence", made by Northwood Glass company about 1912. If you look very closely on the base it may be marked with an underlined N in a circle. Sometimes the mark is quite faint.
Thanks for the extra info Paul. I don't see the underline but it does have the N in a circle.
That's the mark the Northwood glass company used. Sometimes it is very faint and not all the componets are legible.
This is a beautiful plate and if someone was to find one at a Flea Market or Antique shop it would be a better investment than stocks & bonds. Carnival glass is going up in value.
