I bought this one for it's unusual shape. It's not marked on the bottom but there is a leaf mark on the back.
According to author Raymond Li, who wrote "The Medicine Snuff Bottle Connection," large numbers of porcelain bottles like this one were produced in the 19th century to hold medicine or snuff.
Li suggests the non painted area was left this way so the bottles could be labeled.
