Manikin

This postcard is hard to explain why these men had a photo taken with the dolls . They appears to be 1940's Carnival dolls. A recent post of one of these dolls made me remember this postcard I have . If I dated this card right it should be AZO (2 triangles up, 2 triangles down) 1918 - 1930 so perhaps earlier than 40's .
Well,....before the "Blow Up Girlfriend Doll".
They seem to be cuddling some cute "flappers" . Odd photo alright!
Postcard I agree it is a odd one :-)
Cute dolls and guy on the left! But the one on the right... Frightening eyes ! O..Ô
XOXO Mani!
I love this postcard! Though an unusual pic, it's a really neat pic. Love the old postcards!
Thank you jscott much appreciated and glad to see you stop by I always enjoy your posts .
They both look creepy to me (the guys that is)
The dolls look OK!!!
Thank you valentino :-) I received the email and appreciate you thinking of me :-) xo
Racer I think that one of the guys has creepy eyes too ! Sure wonder what they were doing ?
Very strange.......but would be interesting to know the story behind it!!!
Looks like they wanted to be photographed and decided to pick the oddest accessories which would make the picture stand out. They succeeded very well !~
I remember these were called "Cupie Dolls" that were prizes on the midway at fairs.
Yes gatekeeper your right ! I wonder if these guys won all 3 and wanted to show off :-)
Cool card Mani... Maybe the wives went out and they had to babysit LOL.
Thank you Rick always nice to see you :-) they have some pretty strange kids if their babysitting lol

fleafinder yes it sort of looks like that ?I will try and adjust photo to see what is there
Thanks for stopping and I wonder if it is another prize sitting on floor ?
Yeah the other chap looks like he has socks on a feet and none on the other feet too! Interesting and intriguing postcard find you have!
The guy sitting in the chair looks like the doll on the left, of the two dolls he is holding..:-/... great photo!.. :-)

Door to Door traveling doll salesmen. leaving a photo at every door and a business card. ( or store to store sales promotion force. ) Times were hard back when and people took any job they could. One thing tho--The dolls are really cute little "flappers". Man knocks at my door with a sales pitch----I'd buy one!
This is off topic but I saw an add in a local paper yesterday for a full size "readhead" manikin. Of course I thought of you. There wasn't a picture but there was a phone number. Not because of the readhead..just the manikin part. :)
Onegoodfind I am a redhead :-) That was kind to think of me when you saw it for sale . I only collect miniature mannequins /manikins under 30 inches . But I sure thank you for dropping me a note . Always a pleasure
to see you !
Hi inky ! so nice to see you . I think of you often and how your garden must be gorgeous . We have a new bug here a Japanese beetle and it is eating all my flowers and nothing stops them :-( Darn bugs transported on ships and set up housekeeping in wrong countries . Not much they don't attack . But they don't bite people . send photo's when you can ok xoxo
Jap Beetles so plentiful in my neighborhood--BUT I have many outside militant cats. So they are run off. Adopt a couple cats of any age and sex.
haha dont!you never know japanese beetles might be antiques!around for more than decades ago!
Postcardcollector I am allergic to cats but I have a yard full of rabbits that eat what the Japanese beetles don't :-( I am going to find Yosemite Sam lol
They have their season --so don't count on the forever factor--You are not bound in this awful experience--only passing thru!
Postcard we have a very short growing season here everyday counts :-)
Cats will work for you short or long seasons--They think they are "toys" Fling them high and catch them.
Many thanks Trey and betweenthelens I appreciate you stopping :-)
Wee look at that! Do you suppose maybe the makers of the dolls? That's really cool and the fact that you ended up with them is so perfect!
That was supposed to say Well, not Wee...hahaha
Thank you shareurpassiond and packrat-place ! So nice to see you and appreciate you stopping .

You have a good one too young man :-)
Love this!!! Looks more like mid twenties to me. Also the doll on the left looks like the one I posted awhile back. Funny, she was stored in an old shoe box that have a picture of the shoes like the ones the guy on the left is wearing...
Oh yes vintagelamp I remember your look a like doll you posted and it is funny she was in a shoebox like his shoes :-) So nice to have you stop and now I need to go back and look at your doll ! Many thanks
i think the reverse side is where they were supposed to write the ransom letter. great and interesting card Mani!
Thank you ho2cultcha :-) I found it a bit bizarre . Why would these 2 men pose with dolls from carnival . Just odd . I guess they look like gangsters and holding some kids prize for ransom lol
