(977 items)
Top one is same size as a standard full size wing (3") and has a "U.S." officers collar device attached. This was made from aircraft plexiglass.
The other one is 2 1/2" across and finely engraved "5th Air Force, With Love, New Guinea 1944". The top pin bar is also engraved with palm trees. The wing is made of plexiglass with a painted blue backing. The top is sterling silver and typical of New Guinea construction. I have many smaller New Guinea sweetheart items where the silver coin face can be discerned on the back of an engraved piece.
Both of these would also fall into the Trench Art category since they are constructed of war refuse.

This one is also great, but the heart has something different. It just touches something deep inside.
Esther-- I just posted another trench art piece with a very unusual heart shaped base.
