Here is a great Anchor Bitters bottle circa 1880 with applied top and peen-out of other embossing above the two large anchors.
This one is likely from their earlier side when still located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. About 1884, they moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I don't know much about commonality on it, but that I couldn't find any on current e-Bay listings or listings in the last month, and only a handful in photos online, I don't suppose it's terribly common.

This is technically my second bitters bottle, but my only current one. I had a paper label bitters circa 1910 once, but my parent accidentally disposed of it. :(

It's a beauty! Sorry about the other bottle, it must have been pretty upsetting.

Anna, I agree. It's a great 'window' bottle.
I didn't let the loss get to me, but it was disappointing.

Oldbodie, this is a Dr. Dunlap's Anchor Bitters bottle. Peachridge did a great write-up on it:

Sadly bottles don't command that high of a price anymore, just like many of the formerly low-priced ones have risen. The bottle hobby mellowed out a bit in value.

      Thanks for viewing/commenting you two.

They said it may have been the only labeled one known.
Sadly I'll likely never have one. I really like paper-label bottles. LOL.

My surprise: I got offered $400 for it at the bottle club on Sunday. LOL. I paid $20 and had passed it up the first time I saw it.

I hope you took the offer...? :-P

No. I happen to like the bottle, and first offers NEVER are best offers (keep that in mind when you sell things.)

Thank you Spirit. That would be a great advice if i had bottles of your caliber. I'll be lucky if there are any offers at all for my stuff Lol

Well, according to one member on the site, I've only ever posted one good bottle, which was probably this one.
Remember, I found this one in an antique store. I rarely find decent bottles in most of those stores, especially at the one I found this one in, but I happened to get quite blessed.

I wish you more lucky finds like this in the future, and to me all your bottles are fantastic!
