    Hi CW Gang:

    Wonderful treasure I found at a Sale. It was only One Dollar. Marked on the back with 925 and Mexico. Looks like initials of TM or something. Very solid and heavy. Guess the people just thought it was dirty and never looked on the back to see what it said.

    I am happy. Appears to be vintage Sterling Silver Brooch from Mexico, so it was a cheap and Great find on my Holidays......LOL.

    Any extra info welcome......OH EFESGIRL,,,,,,,,

    Thanks for LOOKING // LOVING !!

      Hey found another one just like it:

      https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/234779837/1970s-mexican-sterling-silver-3

      Says there [ quote ]: "" This very cool vintage piece from Mexico, is a three dimensional replica of a tiny umbrella. The pin is marked on the back, Mexico, TM-140, 925. There is a secure locking safety clasp as well. The umbrella measures almost 2 inches high by 1 1/2 inches wide. It is in MINT condition.
      If you like Old Mexican silver, vintage costume jewelry, Native American and western pieces... """"

      Ahhh, shucks I do not see what they priced theirs at......as it is Sold

      Also found this and wanted to post LINK and the QUOTE from there:

      http://www.ebay.com/gds/Dating-Vintage-Mexican-Silver-Jewelry-/10000000007991895/g.html

      [ Quoted from the above link ] "" c. post-1980: since no system of hallmarking and control is fraud-proof, by 1980 the Mexican government was already using a different way of marking silver. The new method required that all tallers, independent producers or designers be registered (again!) with the Assay Office and assigned a special code comprised of letters and numbers. The first letter in the code indicates the location at which the specific maker lives and works, the second is usually the first letter of this person's last name and the number that follows just shows that this was, for example, the 54th person to register in that location. So in this system a mark like "TM-28" would suggest that a piece was made in Taxco (for "T") by somebody whose name starts with an "M", and was the 28th silversmith to register with the Assay Office there. ''

      Hiya rose! Yes, this is a Taxco piece:

      T=Taxco
      M= first or last initial of the silversmith
      Made after 1979.
