I'm not sure what to do with this. My fiance bought it from the elderly lady who lived in the condo before him. I was debating on refinishing it. However, after research, I found out that if I paint it or re-purpose it in any way that's not to restore it back to the original state then it loses a lot of value. I don't think I'm up for that task but I also don't think I'll sell it anytime soon (unless it's worth a ton, which I doubt). So, my question is, would it be blasphemy if I painted it to match my decor or should I fork out some money to have it restored?? I would appreciate any feedback.
Don't mess with it, just clean up use some Murphys Oil Soap on wood.
Your trunk is an early 1900's fiber bound, canvas covered, American made travel trunk. There were thousands and thousands of these made, and unless yours was in perfect, original condition I say do what you like. It is your choice, but the value will not change. Enjoy it.
