I bought this strictly for the interest, as the intrinsic value is nil. Most likely from Germany. I've never seen a piece of jewelry actually stamped "NICKEL". I'm not too sure about the pendant - it seems to be missing something, as it doesn't look quite right on the chain.
Anyway, there it is - thanks for taking a look!

Interesting! Maybe the pendant was formerly part of a keyring?
@kyra - I wondered about that, too. The design on the pendant is very similar to the necklace. The pattern of the chain almost looks like an Albert chain sort of design. Maybe the necklace is older than I think....lol!
I love how the chain is made!
lentilka11 - it's a pretty standard 1960s/1970s chain design. The jewelry of that time seems to have a bit more quality than the things found in the Bijou shops today.
Bonnie, I think this is a pocket watch chain that has been made into a necklace.....that thick ring that looks odd above the pendant would have had a T Bar through it and where the clasp(which shouldn't be there) is at the top, there would have been a swivel on each end......just my opinion.......
Judy - I also thought about that, mainly because of the design of the chain. There's a bronze pocket watch chain (complete) that's been hanging in another thrift shop for donkey's years that has the same sort of shape. Interesting that someone would go to the trouble of making a pocket watch chain into a necklace.
It does make a nice necklace though.....to be honest, I have one that was not long enough to be a necklace and did not have a T Bar either but still has the swivels....so put a couple of extra links on so I could wrap it around my wrist and hook the swivels into the new links. I have taken it back to original now.......I felt guilty that I had altered it......
Oooh, silly me... of course, pocket watch chain!
Judy you are fantastic :-))
The links are so nice!
Don't know about that Pascale!!!! but thank you!!!
Quite lovely! Would just be perfect to wear to the Kentucky Derby!
So happy you got it figured out. Rarely see you "not" know what something is. My co-worker has a bracelet marked nickel silver. He was shocked too!!
Scott is correct this would be so cool at the Derby. :)
