Hello CW friends!
Here's the latest addition to my antique trunk collection. It's was manufactured in England around the 1900 period and made completely of leather. This one still has the original owners initials "W .W." on the top.
Beautifully detailed with many copper and brass rivets. It turned out rather nicely, in my opinion. I could have stood to add a couple of more photos of the solid brass lock and blue/white striped fabric interior, but limited on the number of photos to upload. Oh well, the interior is very clean (missing it's original tray), but nothing special.
This was made specifically for traveling on steam ships as they're just the right height for sliding under your bunk on the steamships. And that's why they are called steamer trunks.
This one is 30" long x 18" wide and 11" tall. I'm currently working on a nearly identical trunk in my shop that is 37" long, and has it's complete and nearly perfect interior. I'll post that when I've completed it.
Thanks for stopping in to have a look!

Penny,
So glad you like the trunk. Thanks so much for the love and for stopping by. Always sincerely appreciated!!!
Love it, wondering if this trunk might also be a Finnigans?
Drill,
Thanks very much!! All of the Finnigans I've seen have their logo embossed into the leather lock protector flap. This one does not have that. I can only assume it was made by someone like John Pound or Brooks Brothers. And I'm not completely sure of that. I've just seen several that are extremely close to this, and my other, that were labeled John Pound or Brooks Brothers.
