trunkman

Found this lovely French trunk -- for now I will attribute it to Louis Biancheri & Co. from Marseilles France from the 1880's. The detail work on this really sets it apart... beautiful brass trim all around. I just started to clean it up a bit -- more work to do. Just when I thought I had too many trunks...
Nobody can have too many trunks...;-D
This one has all to please me, French, Marseille (I was born there...) and shiny!!!
Officially jealous trunkman!! This is absolutely magnificent!! Incredible trim work and that ever so famous signature high quality French made hardware. I do love this one!! Wonderful find!!!
Kyratango -- Marseille is a lovely busy place -- had a great visit there -- thanks for the comment.
JScott -- glad you like it. There must be a 1000 nails is this all hand hammered... I just did a twenty minute clean up on it and it looks great already. These things are to me a work of art -- every joint is tight and the detail on all the fittings is amazing. Even the original handles are intact and the big buckles on the leather straps are super. This languished for eight months on kijji at a really low price and I kept looking at it but taking a pass 'cause I am trying to thin my inventory -- dropped the price even lower and I couldn't resist. Hard to pass up quality...
I could never pass on one like this. It's absolutely wonderful!!! My passion for trunks tells me to never pass on a great trunk at a great price, even though I know I already have far too many:)
Love it T-man would have been hard to pass up,soon you will be building an addition on to the house for the big ones Ha! Thinning really!
beautiful trunk!!
Thanks Sean and Drill -- thankfully I have a large garage...
