Hello! I just purchased this old trunk and would LOVE to find out more information about it. Who made it? How old is it? Etc. Any help you could give me would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Here are a few notes I took:

*Leather straps that goes from back of trunk to bottom = 45 in by 1 1/4 in. This piece is divided into two sections that buckle in the front.
-Bottom piece of leather would have been roughly 15 inches.
-Top piece would have been roughly 35 inches (I added extra inches to allow for room to buckle the two together).

*The small leather pieces that hold the strap down are 4 inches long and 1 3/8 inch wide
    * Trunk has little white wheels on the bottom
*Lock is 5 1/8 inches long and 4 1/4 inches wide
*the lid has a slight curvature. Not flat topped.
*the trunk is covered in a dark burlap material with metal sheets on the sides
*Trunk dimensions are 30in long (across front) by 18 1/4 in wide (side) by 21 1/2 in tall (bottom to tallest point in center).

You have a lovely dome top (slight) trunk from circa early 1900's. This type and style of trunk was common at the time and made by many companies so without a label you will be hard pressed to know who made yours. Looks like a standard yale lock on it -- most companies bought hardware from various suppliers. You can freshen it up with a good cleaning with warm soapy water and a clean cloth -- you may wish to go further and strip down the birch wood slats or even take off the canvas to expose the pine body underneath. You can treat all the metal with gun oil to brighten it up a bit. Nice find -- welcome to Collector's Weekly!
