Just found this Philco Predicta TV today at a garage sale. Guessing it's about 1959 - 1960 ?
I don't believe it's in working condition, haven't tried it yet. The overall cosmetics of it are pretty good. I've always admired the 'space age' look of these sets and you don't come across them very often at garage sales so when I spotted this one, at a VERY reasonable price, I just couldn't leave without it.
I have had about 4 of these over the years. Love them.
Now that is ~ C ~ O ~ O ~ L ~
What a great television! I'd have bought it, too.
Could be a nice little project to fixed, nice find.
Extremely scarce.
Regards
Alan
I would find a spot to put something this cool and I don't have much space.
A first for me. I've never seen one. thanks for sharing!
It totally reminds me of the Jetsons! Turn on the TV Elroy! Awesome.
Very cool!!! My how far televisions have evolved today.
Jetsons!
Thanks for the interesting comments!
Very cool . I love it
The Predicta tv set was the first vintage object I wanted to have as soon as I saw it for the first time. Unfortunately I was only a kid at that time and didn't have the (small) ammount of cash the owner asked for it. My father wouldn't help either, saying "what will you do with this piece of garbage?" LOL. This is how I lost my Predicta.
mcheconi; I too saw these when I was a kid and always wanted one. I've passed up two of them over the years because they seemed too expensive at the time, this one was very inexpensive ($50) and the condition was really pretty good so I wasn't going to pass this up. Hopefully you will find one someday too.
Cool TV
your late where you been for the years ...lol enjoy your day
I like your Buick ..as a young skip I worked for Lebaron Buick el cajon calif. ...it was a dream job I drove everything they had ..from the Opel to all the big boats ..how they floated down the highways...
LazyBoy, Hey Thanks! And it does sound like a dream job, I grew up in a "Buick family", everybody drove Buicks from the 40's to the 80's so it was only natural for me to fond a classic Buick, customize it into a street rod and keep the tradition going
Sorry to hear that mcheconi, I think my mom would have said no faster than your dad, so I got you beat there, sorry to brag !~
