Stunning 1890 Sea chest, embellished with hardware

1890 - 1900s Antique Trunk, museum quality, richly embellished with many latches, surrounded by wood bands and leather. Interior has colorful painted Scandinavian designs and under lid is a burgundy leather pouch.
"Well let me say first of all that this is a stunning trunk! High end high quality trunk form the 1880's -- I would put this in the category of a bride's trunk. It is in the waterfall or monitor style and form. Most of the hardware that I see on it appears to be from a secondary supplier -- they are beautiful clasps and iron fingering but often even high end trunk makers outsourced their hardware... only a few makers made and patented their own. Its a great trunk -- what a rescue!"
