1971 and the Norwegians living on the fjord where the town of Sykkylven sits started a revolution when traditions of passing the family farm to the first born left the second sons to fend for themselves. It was these men, like Jens Ekornes, designers and engineers, who brought their iconic decor to the world.
Found this early Stressless chair and matching ottoman sitting amongst the 'brown wood' at an auction over the weekend... Leather like butter, unusual reddish/copper metalworks looking like it had been sitting in a museum for the last 45 years - Thanks Jens !!!
Recognized the early 70's chair. Would love to sit in this chair and take in all the ambiance that nearly shouts out from this photo ! - Gorgeous !~
I love the whole vignette! GREAT find!
Great looking chair and comfortable too which many "designer" chairs don't achieve.
Love your romm!
*room!
The room is slowly coming together - we moved from an early 20th century farmhouse with the many parlours and enclosed rooms, into a 1962 Mid Century Ranch - could NOT ignore the open architecture and walls of glass so sold off/donated ALL the old furniture and accoutrements to refocus on learning about the Mid-Century Modern designers and producers. Lots of FUN !
