Does anyone recognise where this glass frog, or toad, comes from? The colours are lovely, but I can't find another one like it. I've tried Ditchfield and Heron Glass but it is the wrong shape for them, and even a. Search of general glass frog hasn't shown up anything. Hope someone can help.

That's adorable! Has exactly the same colors as my rainbow hematite bracelet (posted yesterday). Are you sure it's glass? :-))))))

I am pretty sure it's glass, though its very dark and you can't see through it in the sun! However, it is not metal and rather large to be hematite! Your bracelet is very pretty. The only hematite I have come across is black, from Cumbria in the UK.

The deep slate grey hematite is the most common. I have a big ring made from that (also posted here). I've never seen an iridescent glass frog before, so I'm no help.

      John Ditchfield?

I have looked at Ditchfield frogs, and they are a completely different shape, unless it's a one off.

??? Mt Saint Helens glass .......Maybe??

    7. AdeleC AdeleC, 8 years ago
Mount Saint Helen's does look a bit closer to the right sort of glass, thanks for the suggestion.

Do you think the material is called Zsolnay?

Hi Gillian, thank you for your ideas. I had not heard of zsolnay and it was interesting to read about it. I still think the frog is glass though!

They make some beautiful iridised pieces.

Well, I did write, "You could also consider Phoenician Glass, Malta ............ Not sure where it went??

      Love this its scrummy :)

I think this is made by Gozo Glass in Malta, as it's very similar to a Dolphin I have. I will mark it as solved.
