    Hello everyone.

I need a few opinions on this one please.

I think this ring is really lovely and it is pinky size.

Don't very often see these for sale here, but notice several are on line in the U.S. which makes me suspicious as to the age of this ring

It is marked Sterling, which I always think of as being U.S. made.
It was sold to me as vintage, 1940s or so. The ones I have seen on line are all described as Art Deco.....

So, any thoughts as to age, where made, or any other info would be great! Thanks, Judy

Really hard to say for sure, Judy. Here's a page of them for comparison:

Thanks Bonnie, yes very difficult isn't it.....especially with there being so many around. I reckon I have looked at hundreds in the last 2 days lol. But I do love it anyway and didn't pay much for it either.....wearing it at the moment!!
      Thanks for the love too!!

I always think of sterling being British or Asian! I am probably up the wrong path :)
Anyhoo - I think it's lovely and older - not a newer one. I love the shape and colour of the blister (they can be a bit blah) and the shoulders are beautiful.

Thanks Karen, glad you think it is lovely! I do too and I didn't have one so I am very happy with it!
I spent most of last night looking up how blister pearls happen......and got totally lost in the process.....so many different types of pearls!!!! So really no further ahead with answers.
I am pretty sure that any silver, whether imported into, or made in Britain, must still adhere to the british hallmark system. Asian silver.....don't know!
Anyhow....whichever way it goes, I love it and will wear it....... and thanks for helping with your comment. :))

Hello! Yes, this was a popular type of jewelry in U.S.A around the early 1900s. This type of fresh water blister pearl jewelry was popular for a length of time, from 1920s through 1940s, (I think), with rings, screw back earrings and pendants available. I think the pearls might have been found from fresh water mollusks also used for shell button manufacture. I have a number of pieces of this type and the pearls always fascinate me; each one is different!

Hello Glittergal, Thanks so much for taking the time to comment with all that information....that's fantastic, I would be happy to call it 1940s, American, and a fresh water blister pearl.
That is really interesting about the button shell connection!
Will have to keep my eye out now for a pendant and earrings!!!
Thanks so much again for your help here I really appreciate it!! So will mark this out as Solved!!
