WHEN I HAD MY BLACK CHARLES LOTTON CAGED BOWL MADE, I LOVED IT. THE ONLY DISAPPOINTMENT WAS THE TRELLIS, WHICH WASN'T AS PRONOUNCED AS OTHERS I'VE SEEN. WHEN THIS ONE CAME UP, I LITERALLY FLIPPED AND WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO GET IT. IT WAS EVERYTHING I WANTED, THICK TRELLISES, GREAT COLOR, A FOLDED RIM AND A NICE SIZE - 8 1/2" H x 12" W. THE TECHNIQUE HE USED IS GOLDEN SUNSET, WHERE THE IRIDESCENCE IS SPRAYED ON THE INTERIOR RATHER THAN THE OUTSIDE. THE RESULT IS A DEEP AMBER THAT GLOWS SPECTACULARLY. UNFORTUNATELY, THE PHOTOS DON'T CONVEY THE IRIDESCENCE, BUT AT LEAST YOU GET AN IDEA. THIS HAS BECOME, WITHOUT QUESTION, MY FAVORITE PIECE OF ART GLASS! AS ALWAYS THANKS FOR LOOKING.
This is amazing, Rick!

Rick,
This most perfect piece of glass deserves the perfect words of praise. I do not have those. When the annealer door was opened and this was brought out, I would bet there wasn't much to be said in terms of words, but pure joy must have run wild at the sight of this bowl. I feel that joy seeing the pictures. Yes, I have visited this post many times, but find myself just admiring the photos. I love the trellis which leads my eye around the bowl like a trail. A journey of visual beauty. The folded rim gives this bowl an overall floral form, genius and profound. You know I love it, and I am here to say it again. WOW!
