Rare 1950's Raise Up Desk Set model of a Lockheed Turboprop Electra
Its one of the larger models and since I was cleaning it today, I thought that I would post it. I got it in about 2011-12 when I was building my collection of aircraft models. Raise Up models are rare and highly collectible.
I am not sure if it has held its value since then and hopefully has, since I have to eventually thin my collection of planes, there are just not enough display cabinets here.
By now postscript, they have added the Aviation categories.
Had one of those wanting to eat my r'as up landing in Pensacola, FL when my radio went out in the 60's. (Yes, they do use red & blue lights from the tower in such cases).
Real nice Phil! I wouldn't mind being the proud owner of this!

Thank you pops 52, appreciated !
Thank you Spiritbear, however this piece was given in honour of a valued employee, for his desk, nothing to do with advertising.
Stunning piece in your collection of top-of-the-line collectibles !!
This piece brings me many memories...the Electra was used here in Brazil in flights between Rio and Sao Paulo until 1992(!!!) serving aerial commuters from these two cities in up to 66 flights per day (!!!). When the Electra was decommissioned, back in 1992, and replaced by the Boeing 737, there was even a farewell flight for specially invited frequent fllyers, mechanical staff, press...I remember them passing by and the roaring sound from the four engines...one didn't have to look up to know the Electra was on its way to Rio.
Here's a video from this last flight:

Thank you Recordmantime for the nice compliment !~
Thank you mcheconi good friend for the comment and the video. Loved the champagne served and appreciate the video link. I really loved the part 2 video which I watched also, they showed some magnificent vistas from your country and I was surprised they could land on what seemed the short runway, and the plane seemed to make hardly any noise from the smooth landing !~
Phil i was wondering if you would know if the dash 3 airplane lamp ashtray stand has metal craft on the bottom aThe one im looking at is i believe 1950s it has metal craft on plane and on the middle metal piece but nothing on the bottom of the ashtray. The design is a little different on the middle than the bottom . The color matches and metal is the same. Ive also seen many different types of bottoms on the web b ut not sure if they are correct either. Thanks in advance for your time and knowledge.
Roy

Very nice item to have for display. It looks to be in fine condition.
Had to land between 2 of these once in the early 60's when my radio went out. Tower gave me me the green light(literally) between them & I was off the runway at the 1st. taxiway ! Never fully trusted ATC since.
Thanks ttomtucker for the love !~
