Hello, 1st time poster here. I found this huge (19.75" tall) blue and crystal vase or goblet recently. I'm in love with it, but I'm at my wit's end trying to find out what it is and who made it! I've found some close matches in color and the double twist stem, such as Morgantown Azure Blue and some Murano pieces. The color is very tricky to get accurately, it's more of an aqua or light teal type blue, not just blue. It isn't marked that I can tell, but there is a short kind of stippled mark on the bottom that when I look at through my very inadequate magnifying glass looks at time like it could be letters or numbers. I haven't been able to get a pic of that yet, since it is miniscule. Any info or guidance will be GREATLY appreciated! LOL. Is it something from China that you can buy at Ross or TJ Maxx? I hope not!
Thanks in advance.
That's beautiful and incredibly large! Ilook forward to seeing if anyone can identify it.
Thanks, CindyJune, I can't stop staring at it, and I move it around to catch the different lights, LOL. I am obsessed with it, I've been on the Internet for 3 days straight trying to i.d. it, so I am really anxious to see if someone can.
I think I may have found another clue re: identifying my large vase, goblet, chalice whatever! I found a website for Morgantown glass, http://www.morgantownglassmuseum.com and in one of the pics of his collection, there are some tall stemmed glasses, vase, whatevers, with the same tall twist design as mine. The pics are under "Resources" and it's pic 3 of 5. The stems I'm talking about are on the second shelf on the upper left. They look like they are in amber and crystal, but the stem is very similar. I'm about 90% sure now that my piece is Morgantown Azure Blue. But, I could be totally wrong and I'm still open to other suggestions!
