I stumbled upon these today and had no idea what they were but bought them for the colors and tropical appeal. These are panels made by the Kuna(Guna) Indians off the island of San Blas of Panama which they wear on the front and back of their blouse as traditional wear. It is described as reverse appliqué and is very tideous work. It's a great find for $25 for the lot and well framed with matting.
