    (2 items)

Found two of these in a box at a junk shop. 6-1/2 inches long and 4-1/2 inches tall, made of brass. Swivels on the ball shown. Screw's down to tighten the clamp.Has teeth on the bottom clamp. Says Auburn NY on it with the letters Patd. Numbers on it can not be read .
Just was wondering if any one knows what it is and what it was used for? If so, how much is it worth? Thanks for looking!!

I've never seen on like that but it could be a fishing rod holder it would clamp on the handle? It is made mostly of brass so it wouldn't rust up and become inoperable. It looks like the other end has a wood screw type of bottom on it to screw into wooden boats?

It is not a very long screw, so i'm thinking it wouldn't hold a lot of weight or tension. Thanks for looking!!!

I'm not really sure but I think that these would be mounted on a wodden base to be used to hold small parts for working on, kind of a 'third hand' type of deal.....just my humble opinion.....
