this late 50s-early 60s ERN knife is in really nice condition. only slight discolorations on the blade. you can zoom the pictures and see , it doesn't appear to have ever been sharpened. it probably has been, but its not apparent at all.
the fella I bought it from says its a WWII knife, but Im pretty sure , its not. I do believe it could've been a few yrs after the war. @ 1950. im editing through the early 60s because the ERNs are really hard to date.
all of the proof marks are very clear, although my pics aren't. I haven't cleaned the knife . im not sure itd help much . its original condition is nearly A-1 as it is. gonna oil it and let it be.
this 1 was a fantastic find that I got on my opening bid. that doesn't happen much on knives like this 1. im loving it !

thanks bobbee. I believe its leather and alloy. not sure at all, but I do have others that are very similar. some of these designs are plastic. this 1 isn't. the distinct look of the leather is a sure thing. the plastic versions became more popular in the later yrs.... mid to late 60s from what ive collected and observed myself. there are no good reference books on the materials used , but from my observations only, the leather is a dead give away of an older knife.
perhaps other collectors can chime in on this. and set me straight if im wrong.
this is purely what ive noticed based on my personal collection.
You can't beat natural materials, although some of the man-made ones can be fantastic.
You can't duplicate that feel though... :-D
