    I was given these cups (no saucers) by a couple from Thailand for whom I had done a favour. I love the delicacy and fineness of them and the fact that when you tip up the cup for the final sip, you are rewarded with the surprise of a picture of the Queen. I just wanted to share.

      These are called lithophane cups. Great aren't they!
      Japan seems to have been the primary maker of these, often with images of geisha in them, however royalty do appear also.
