Blue/Green compact vacuum cleaner. Has a neat look to it. Missing the hose that would have come with it. Anyone know the age of this vacuum? I think it is 1940 or 1950 era.

I think about that as we had one on the farm, and I am a 1960's model myself....
It is a great colour and shape!!
We had one of these in the early 1970s - we called it 'the blue pig'. I think it was a wedding gift so it was probably new at the time.
Great color. I thinking 1950s myself. Too much metal for the 70s.
Probably early/mid 1950's for this one, the blue-green colored Compacts were some of their first models produced to gain widespread 'consumer success'. Later, the name/badging of the machines would change to "Tri-Star" and the color of the machines would go thru numerous iterations.

I briefly worked as a "door to door salesman" (and then, "service technician") for a local Tri-Star affiliate in the 1980's (think Kirby for the marketing process, but twice the price?!!) when the machines were dark red colored. Since then I have acquired two newer (both silver colored) models, one of which I regularly use to clean my own house, the other just came home with me yesterday and I haven't had a moment yet to do anything with it but plug it in and confirm that it runs. :-)
I have a hand one from the 1930s or 1940s.
They were used on the R M S QUEEN MARY.
