Knitted doily from post WWII Germany measures 36" diameter. I remember seeing it used as antimacassar in our living room during the 50s. Was sent to my mother from a relative in East Germany after the war in thanks for care packages of coffee, chocolate, clothes, etc. which they couldn't get there.
Love this one. I have many hand crocheted doilies made by various ancestors but the knitting is so delicate and flexible.
