Thanks! I did finally find it. I'm sure it was from the original knowing that my Grandmother had it early in her marriage.
It's hollow, with something inside that rattles when shaken. Doesn't seem designed for rattle-age kids and there are no tooth marks. Stamped name inside front leg says HavAtoy.
