This ring started its life as a brooch, it had an C clasp so I believe it to be early art and crafts. The brooch was in a bad way, so my friend decided to turn it into a ring. The band compliments this piece so well, it has all come together nicely, he is so talented.
I would like to think this piece has a look of Bernard Instone, but I think it's earlier then his time. Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks for looking.
It is just lovely Jean and you friend has done a terrific job!
Totally agree with Judy!
Thank you Judy and kyra, he has done a terrific job. I was wondering if you both would hazard a guess to age. I'm leaning towards the 1900s.
That ring really is super! I like the design and the fact it has a wide band. Much more comfortable.
Thank you so much nutsabotas, and Bonnie for your comments. My friend has excelled with this ring. Your correct Bonnie, it's a very comfortable ring to wear. Yet again thank you to you both :-)))
Oh Jean, please don't ask my opinion on age LOL , you know I am hopeless at that, sorry!! Meant to ask what the stone is as well Jean. I love the colour!
Hi valentino, thanks for your comment. Yes it's a great ring to wear, and as Bonnie said very comfortable.
Hi Judy, the stone I think is Chrysophase. Thanks for passing by again :-)
Gorgeous arts and crafts style....what a beautiful conversion.
Thank you Karen, he as done a marvellous job. I hope he gets some ideas for making his own jewellery. I know he's very interested in art n craft pieces, that's why I look for art n craft pieces that are in need of repair.
Karen, I'm really interested in seeing your Bernard Instone pieces. Yesterday I bought some very intestering cuff links made by him, I'll post when I receive them.
My granddaughter, June-chan, is sitting with me right now, and she says she likes this "wing" because it's "pweddy"! [;>)))
Hi NevadaBlades, it seems your lovely granddaughter June-Chan, has a good eye and taste in antique jewellery. Please say hello to her from me.
Many thanks
