I purchased this vanity on March 6, 1983 for $295 from Alexander Antiques in Houston, Texas. I still have the receipt. I'm included a stool. However, I remember them telling me it was not an exact matching stool. It is still in very good condition as it has never really been used except in a guest bedroom. Anyway, I am considering selling it now but have no idea if it is worth more now or even what I paid for I at that time. Unfortunately if they told me any information about the style, date range or anything, I don't remember it. Can anyone help me out with any inidentifying formation on this item?
It is still not an antique-- it dates from the 2nd quarter, 20th century.
You can probably get most of your money out of it.

Oh. Well I've been thinking of painting it but held off because it might be antique. Maybe now I will. Thanks so much for the info.
It is still a vintage piece and although not 100 years old it is not officially an antique. It is still a nice vintage item that would be sold at an antique store. Anyway I wouldn't paint it and no you will not be able to sell it for what you paid for it. Maybe $150-$200 on Craigslist.
Thank you fortApache. I may just try to sell it locally or just keep it for now. And I will hold off painting it. ????
I wouldn't paint it. Of course it is all taste-- I don't care for painting over wood.
If painting causes you to use it, then it is probably a feasible option. Quality painting and distressing is popular in my area and would NOT affect the value much, if at all.

Painted & distressed is also very popular here in Texas, but my husband really doesn't want me to paint it either. I will see if I get any interest as is. Then I will reevaluate. Thanks.
Beautiful vanity!!
