Hello all,
I went to an estate sale in Memphis this weekend and I bought this pin brooch. It has got to be the weirdest pin brooch I have ever seen. Made of brass, it measure a huge 5" x 2 1/2". It appears to be a modernists piece or maybe some assembled this in the dark and drunk. There is a globe on it. Maybe a sunburst and maybe a satellite orbiting. There is also a plane with USAF. Please look at the detail. Maybe some kind of weird military piece.
What do you think? It is unique? Is it homemade or did actually someone tried to market this?
It is simply ugly. But then again VW Beetles were ugly and I loved them, lol.
Steampunk?
Steampunk uses an awful lot of gears, and cogs, watch bits - this looks like it's supposed to an expression of something. Something to do with Russia and the States? Feel free to scorn.
Missed out Germany.
It was bought from a little African American's estate sale. This lady wore furs and such. This piece was so totally out of character. I believe it has some age and not made as a Steampunk. Maybe it's prehistosteampunk. Whatever it is ugly. I don't have a clue, but you have to buy the unusual.
I would so wear this!
How interesting.....I like it. I can make out on the Eagle? hanging from the chain the word "PEACE".......looks quite well made I think!!!
I'm pretty sure it's a piece by Jan Michaels of San Francisco.

BTW the message is clear - there is a shield of communism around Earth, USAF is orbiting nearby together with 2 alien spaceships and eagle of peace is lost somewhere in the space.

Yep, that's it. Seems mine is missing Saturn. The star is mounted behind the sun. So it will be worthless missing these pieces. I only paid $2 for it but got some fun put of it, lol.

stwillia while I agree that yours may be missing pieces on the torpedo shape. The one you have has things the one etsy does not. Yours has the fish tail and the eagle. Maybe they were individualized. Still think it's a great piece.
