Please tell me about this trunk!?!

I have always loved old steamer trunks but I have never had the space for one, I'm now decorating my new home and found this beautiful piece at a local flea market for what I consider a steal at $30. I'm not sure if I want to restore it or leave it as is because I love it already. But I was curious if you guys can tell me anything about it. What is the time period and things like that. Any information would be greatly appreciated, if not for anything else I'm interested in the history of this piece! Thanks again!
