Here are 4 Strohs Beer signs I have gotten over the yrs. My dad worked there here in Detroit Mi. for over 37 yrs. Until they closed the doors in the late 1980's. Although he did get compensated, I am sorry to say that he did not get a good severance package. Not for 37+ yrs. Anyway the first 3 are nothing special, plastic from the 80's. Now the 4th one I think is pretty good. It is electric and should light up(if I ever get around to replacing the switch and possibly the bulbs) I found the 4th one in the rafters of my garage when I moved into my current house. Not sure of the date for this one.

Just recently it was announced that a local Detroit Brewery is going to start producing the original recipe for Strohs beer. I think I only tasted Strohs once, a long time ago. Don't remember it.

    Thanx for lookin!

The last one is a 70's double sided plastic and metal sign. Yes - get it working - looks good lit up. Others are nice for the bar also.

Thanx buckethead, brunswick & bobby725 (3B's) for all the cool comments. I don't think I have ever tried Pabst. If I drink beer it is usually Canadian.

Iggy, you drink Canadian because it has some taste that Amer. beers lack. When people who are asked which taste they like best, they are try to explain in what they taste. Often, it is something that is lacking that makes the difference & people seem to forget that. When I'm in the States, I'm still looking for Stroh's, since it still has that non-Amer. taste that I like. Now you say it's not made anymore !! Guess I'll just have to fly by & go to Canada. Guess I'm going to have to check on that statute de limitations now !

Nice beer signs iggy. I beg to differ with blunderbuss2 as American breweries missing something What exactly is American breweries missing? There are many craft breweries in the states that make great beers such as Bent Paddle in Duluth MN. I have tasted many good Canadian beers along with some "skunky" Canadian beers. Sorry to vent on your post - Nice Beer Signs.

Bucket, I don't live in the States & certainly can't judge all those smaller/micro breweries, just the big brands that swamp the market. Hard to explain. We can buy locally daily baked bread & it is good. When we had local stone oven baked bread, it was much better tasting. Since stone oven bread has no gas or metal involved, then the bread must taste better because of an absence of something. (Like gas or metal). We discussed in the past & never could really put our finger on it. Preferences in beer change with people & for the past years for me, it has been Stella Artois or Corona.

Thanx fleafinder and everyone for the comments. In the past I do admit that sometimes 'Molson Canadian' would be skunky' a lot. It's a well known canadian beer but Labatt's is my favorite.

@ blunderbuss2 - I can understand what your sayin' about the major brands. They cater to what most Americans like to taste in a beer - ice cold and no taste. I prefer my beers dark, grainy, and slightly cooler than room temperature so I can taste it. Saint Pauli Dark comes to mind. Excellent choice on the Stella Artois. Good Belgium style beer. Cheers. Again iggy - cool Stroh's signs.

P.S. I had to hold my pinch my nose a few times drinking a Moosehead.

Thanx buddy! No better way than to ring it in with beer! My kayaking group and I always have a new years day paddle and big bonfire bash on the river with plenty of food and drinks. But we are always safe also.
