It takes a standard vest-pocket film and was made by Utility Mfg. Co. of New York. Patents pending.
I'm guessing 1940s. It would look spiffy if it weren't for that very crude front. Is it missing something?

Overall, the style is quite common in 1940s cameras.
I like the crude front, it may be earlier than 1940s. But then again it may not, I think I covered myself there. Looks like that may be Persian Morocco leather which leads me to think it is earlier.
Utility Mfg. Company made a series of these cameras which are referred to as their "minicam" style. It dates to around 1939 and makes 3 x 4 cm images. There should have been a metal badge on the lens face. A lot of different names appeared on this camera including Falcon Midget, Falcon Minette, Falcon Miniature, Rex Miniature, Spartus Miniature and so forth. There was even a version with a green enameled faceplate with the Girl Scout logo. Anyhow, the company was founded c1934 and sold to the Spartus Corp. of Chicago sometime in the 1940s.
