This ring came from Japan in a consignment but I don't think it's Japanese.
It has a very handmade look to it and is quite chunky. The opal is bezel set with a closed back but may be solid by looking at the top of it.
It tests as sterling silver although it appears that the little ball below the opal and the middle ball above the opal have been gold plated.
It is stamped B B with a loopy sign after each B. The box under that mark may have said sterling but I can't read it at all.
This is very interesting! Some silver polish on a Q-tip will clean out the marks.
Beautiful and interesting! Opal color is nice!
A broken wood match tip is better to "brush" out the grime of the marks :-)
Very very nice and very interesting Karen!!!
Does that say BeBe?
BeBe fashion jewelry?
yeah i see bebe too but with some annotations on the "e"
very nice ring
Hey kyra, now I know what to do with all of my used wooden matches! :-)))))
Nice design.
Thanks everyone. I'll try and get a better photo of the mark after I clean it better.
The symbol is not an e when I look at it presently, it's like an o with horns, but loopy!

Looks like a knuckle sandwich ring!...... Love it!..... lol [;>)
Very interesting ring. Let us know what you find when it's been cleaned. The bezel setting looks like it's taken a beating, but maybe it looks worse than it is when enlarged.
stunning!!
Thanks KJ - like the Phantom!
It has had a hard life I think Gillian. I will get onto posting another photo.
Thanks Sean!
