Hello fellow collectors!!!
While searching for treasures on Saturday, my wife found this little cedar chest sample. We thought it was pretty neat, so we bought it. I gave it a good cleaning and polished the copper banding.
Since cedar chests are not my area of expertise, I have no knowledge of how old this one is or who the manufacturer was. Perhaps some of our CW friends can help to put a date, and possibly a manufacturer, on this one.
Thanks for stopping to have a look and for any help you can give me in regards to this cedar chest sample!
Scott
Nice find Scott, cedar has a nice smell to it.
Great find love these little ones
Pops,
Thanks!! I actually had to add a couple of drops of cedar oil inside this one to bring out the cedar aroma.
Thanks Roy!!
Wasn't crazy about it when I first saw it. But, the more I cleaned it, the better I liked it.
oroyoroyisthatyourhorse,
Thanks very much!!!! My older brother built my mother one, in junior high school wood shop class, back in the '60s. She still has it and it still has a very sweet cedar aroma.
Thanks for the appreciations and for stopping in

Very nice Scott.... As a child we had one that we used as a toy chest - of course without the copper bending. I can never forget that delicious smell :-)
Rick,
Thanks! You just can't beat that wonderful cedar smell. Thanks for the comment, the love and for stopping in. Always appreciated!!!
I have that EXACT same one! It was my Grandmothers! I use it as my coffee table. I know I have stuff in it-and now I'm wondering what.
That's pretty cool Rob!
I'm not at my house right now, but as I recall, this is about 14" long and about 7" tall. Thanks Rob for the appreciation and for stopping by.
Celiene,
I'd love to see the one you have. We just found this one in an antique mall and liked it, so we bought it. I really know nothing about cedar chests at all.
Thanks very much for the comment!
