Needs alot of clean up, but I am pleased with this trunk I picked up at a local benefit. It still has two of the original 4 wheels on the bottom. As you can see, it is missing a few pieces. I don't know much about antique trunks but, from what I have read, this may be a Jenny Lind six buckle antique trunk. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Absolutely, you have a 6 band brass bound Jenny Lind(kind of rare) trunk from around 1860's. Looks like a few leather issues in some areas, I would clean her up with Murphys oil soap and soft brush and see how it looks,use a good leather conditioner after it is dry, I have two Jenny's one with leather on and one with leather off. they weren't made for very long about 20 to 25 years or so late 1840's to mid, late 1860's, I love Jenny Lind's hard to find in good condition, good luck with her.
Beautiful find -- if possible you have room for one more pic... love to see a close up of the lock, always of interest. These transform beautifully when restored --- would love to see some "after" shots...

Great looking lock -- first time I have seen one like it... does any part move on it or slide over to show a key hole? Doesn't seem to be anything missing on it as far as I can tell.
I have this same lock, if you push up on the left hand side of that cross bar toward the top it will expose the key hole.
Very nice, I'd love to see more pics after you clean it up a bit.
