I am posting these two examples of Kralik's Burgundy and Gold Decor for olebodie. They are both right about 5.5" tall. I particularly like the cylindrical vase; in my experience it is a shape rarely seen in Kralik's work. This is a favorite decor of mine - the deep red and gold are a rich and lovely combination.
Hi olebodie, thank you, and yes, it is very addictive!! These were early pieces I added to my collection in about 2002 or so; I always thought they dated to about about 1900 (very Art Nouveau), so I think you are right on the money with your time frame.
Well you have a lot of years on me, then! :) I bet you have some amazing things, olebodie. Your posts here have been a pleasure to see. I am glad you are enjoying glass so much, and I know that a lot of kind people here on CW are happy to help. I always learn something from others when I stop by. :)
great iridicence and textures
Thanks so much, kivatinitz!
You certainly have two beauties here, Michelle. To be sure the cylindrical vase challenges my notion of what an Art Nouveau shape should be. However my favourite is still the curvy one......I love the subtle bumps towards the base, not to mention the rich décor.
