To my knowledge this piece was made in the Phillipines and is hand carved. I found one in a storage locker i had bought and sold it on line for $50.00. It is solid all the way through and made from wood only grown in the south Pacific. Mine had no date or maker either, i was told by a man who owned an antique store it is mid 50's.
